Approval Process

Application Approval

Application notices will be sent via email. Once processed, each applicant will receive one of the following statuses. If your application status changes, you will be notified via email.

  • You’re in!

  • AKA Waitlisted. You’re approved, however, the Market Manager needs some more time to better understand which individual dates you are approved for. You will be updated accordingly.

  • The application is being kicked back to the applicant with a specific request for more information so the application can be properly processed.

  • If any openings arise you will be contacted accordingly.

  • The participant is not allowed to participate in the market.

Per-Day Status

  • A date the participant has requested to attend.

  • This state indicates the participant is on the waitlist for this day and will be contacted as openings become available—which they do! Quite frequently!

  • The Market Manager has approved the participant to attend the market this day. The participant is expected to attend. Once a booth has been assigned this status will change to “assigned”.

  • The participant is not allowed to participate in the market this day.

  • A default state indicating the participant has not selected to attend this particular day.

Vendor Insurance

While the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market does not require vendors to have their own vendor insurance, we have had an increase in vendors requesting information on Vendor Insurance. Please feel free to reach out to farmersmarket@downtownmarquette.org for options other vendors have used or suggest

Each vendor’s coverage options would depend on each vendor’s needs and circumstances. Here is a list of recommendations to consider, provided by our local Acrisure branch.

  • Ensures your business is protected against claims of bodily injury or property damage resulting from your market activities. This coverage provides peace of mind as you engage with customers every day.

  • Essential for vendors selling food or other consumable products. This safeguards against claims related to injuries or illnesses that could be associated with your products, maintaining your reputation for safety and quality.

  • Provides coverage for your valuable equipment and supplies, protecting against damage or loss due to events like theft or fire. This ensures continuity in your operations, even in challenging circumstances.

  • Compensates for lost income should unexpected events disrupt your ability to operate. It's a critical component to securing your financial stability through unforeseen disruptions.

  • Important if you utilize a vehicle exclusively for transporting goods to and from the market, offering protection for your transport needs so you can focus more on your business.

  • Required if you employ any staff, providing necessary coverage for work-related injuries or illnesses. It supports a safe working environment and compliance with legal mandates.
