Being a

Youth Vendor

at the DMFM

Supporting young entrepreneurs under 18 with real-world market experience.

Youth Vendors at the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market grow, harvest, design, make, or produce the products they bring to market. With administrative support from the adults in their lives, they are beginning their journey as future entrepreneurs, and we are proud to support them.

Youth Vendor Policies

All regular Market Policies apply to Youth Vendors with these additional changes.

  • Youth Vendors need a Responsible Adult (over 18) to attend markets with them unless the Market Manager gives express permission

  • Youth Vendors under the age of 16 do not need to meet the market’s handmade requirements as long as the product is appropriate for them to sell at the market, but must not be flea market or resell items.

  • Youth Vendors will not be photographed intentionally unless the market provides a special Parental/Guardian Approval agreement

  • The Market will provide the Youth Vendor with a sign stating they are an approved Youth Vendor that must be on display during the Market

  • Youth Vendors at the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market should be the primary individuals who grow, harvest, design, make, or produce the products they bring to market. The Youth Vendor should be the primary individual selling at the market with administrative support from parents or guardians.

Vending with A Responsible Adult

Most Youth Vendors vending at the DMFM will require a Responsible Adult to attend the market with them. A Responsible Adult is someone 18 or over who can attend the market with the Youth Vendor to help handle situations that might arise and support the Youth Vendor with their booth at the market.
